This depends on where your target lives, a target that
lives in an apartment is more difficult to observe than a target that
lives in a normal one or two story home.
Also the neighborhood density can either be your friend
or your foe, if you target is located in a suburb for example, it can
be difficult to make an observation succeed without getting caught.
In a more desolated area on the other hand, nature and night are your
friend. I would not recommend to observe a suburb target at night
time, since this would cause a lot of suspicion. Strange unusual
vehicles and/or people again tend to glow like a fucking Christmas
Tree in the neighborhood.
In
a more desolated and unpopulated area, night time observation is
advised also you want to use natural covers like bushes or trees. BUT
assure that you are
alone and not observed yourself by someone or something before you
take cover. This counts for people as well as for surveillance
equipment like cameras.
Cameras can be your enemy but also your friend, since
you can use camera technology as well. For example if you cant or
don’t want to stay in an area for longer observation, you can try
to find a suitable hiding spot. There you can deposit a small video
camera with enough battery power and storage capacity for a few
hours. Important is to assure that your equipment is working and will
remain undetected until you return to remove it form the hiding spot.
Precautions
As a preparation for the event that your camera is
detected, it is important to wear gloves while handling your
equipment, also clean any kind of finger prints from it. Also try not
to leave any DNA trace on it that could be recorded by the police, if
the camera is found and reviewed by a paranoid target. The suspect
might hand your equipment over to the police where it would be
analyzed, by this your finger prints and/or DNA profile could end up
in a law enforcement database.
Also
you should make sure that the camera you pic is not too expensive in
case it should get lost. When it comes down to the video quality and
features, make sure it has a decent zoom and a good night vision
feature THIS IS VERY
IMPORTANT since you
will be shooting at night.
The distance from the hiding spot of the camera to the
target should be far enough away to avoid detection. The footage
quality is still good enough to give you information’s you need a
blurry video footage wont be much of a good information source.
Also
it is wise to cover up lights on the camera that might indicate that
its operating, since this could give your cameras location away. BE
CAREFUL NOT TO COVER UP THE LENSE !!!
